Just outside the western gate of Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada, there is a charming little place called Oxtongue Lake. Here is the view from the lawn of Tapawingo Place, one of the charming cottages alongside the lake, in late September.

The combination of azure blue of the mineral silt from glacial runoff, the electric blue of the sky, and the dusky blue of the Rocky Mountains made this scene in Banff, Alberta, Canada, an unforgettable experience.

I've spent a lot of time at the beach in Emerald Isle, North Carolina over the years. There's a certain "feel" to the beach I remember when I look at certain photographs. This photo taken at the Bogue Inlet during the summer of 1996 evokes that "being there" feeling for me. This beach inlet is now history, having been reclaimed by the Atlantic Ocean.
