Quebec City

St. Laurent Sunrise

Uncharacteristically, I got up at the crack of dawn to catch the crack of dawn. The clouds, not the sun, created the mood during this particular sunrise. This is the view of the St. Lawrence looking out from the boardwalk in front of the Chateau Frontenac.

The railing on the boardwalk was too tall for both me and my tripod, so I balanced the camera precariously on the ledge to capture this shot looking down into the street below.

French Kitty

Everyone in Quebec spoke French and was very friendly. This charming kitty I discovered  in a side street courtyard was no exception. She responded with an interested glance towards  my "Bonjour," and did not run away.

Here is the famous Chateau Frontenac, one of the string of luxury hotels built across Canada by the Canadian Pacific Railroad. The structure is an eclectic gathering of rooms with very charming results. Our room was one of those little turrets poking out from the roof on the bottom right. It was on floor 6 1/2.
